TiOx is TreadStone's precious metal-free coating — a patented Direct Particle Binding (DPB) thin-film semi-conductive doped titanium oxide technology that delivers excellent corrosion resistance and low contact resistance without any precious metal content. By leveraging unique differing valence states in doped titanium oxide, TiOx creates a natural semiconductor conductive pathway for electron transport — providing OEM-grade performance at a significantly lower material cost than precious metal alternatives.
TiOx has been rigorously tested under standard industry corrosion protocols (pH 3.0, H₂SO₄ with 0.1 ppm HF, 80°C) across the full automotive and industrial operating voltage range (0.8V to 2.0V) for test durations of 24 to 100 hours. Results: superior corrosion resistance at every voltage and every test duration.
TiOx is currently in active development, with strong corrosion resistance results demonstrated on titanium substrates.
